Events and Announcements: Documentation

Here is a tour of how to navigate through Simmons alerts, events and announcements, and to manage them by setting your own personalized flags and reminders, moving items to and from the trash, and finding old events, alerts, and announcements. To see all Simmons alerts, events, or announcements (not just public ones) and to flag or remind yourself about any, first you have to Sign In, or Log in to personalize this page.

Manage Your Subscriptions

One way to think about a MySimmons category is as a Simmons department or office.  On MySimmons, you can subscribe to categories such as the Athletics Department, Diversity, etc.  Your subscriptions govern which events and announcements you see on MySimmons.

Note: unsubscribing to a MySimmons category does not affect the daily email digest you receive. The digest includes all Simmons events and announcements that are addressed to the audience to which you belong (e.g. students, faculty, or staff).

Subscribe, or unsubscribe

There are a couple ways to navigate to where you can join or leave a MySimmons subscription category. Here is one:
  1. Go to the Dashboard Welcome page, by signing in, or by clicking Dashboard from elsewhere on MySimmons.
  2. On the right hand side, look down the list of headings until you find Category Subscriptions.
  3. Click Edit Your Subscriptions
  4. On the Subscriptions page, there is a list of Announcement/Event Categories. Do one of the following:
    1. Click the check box for each subscription category to which you want to join.
    2. Clear the check box for each subscription category you want to leave.
  5. Click Update. You are now subscribed or unsubscribed to categories, depending on your selections.
  6. Click Dashboard in the banner to return to the Dashboard Welcome page.

The Category Subscriptions list displays the categories to which you are currently subscribed.
