Here is a tour of how to navigate through Simmons alerts, events and announcements, and to manage them by setting your own personalized flags and reminders, moving items to and from the trash, and finding old events, alerts, and announcements. To see all Simmons alerts, events, or announcements (not just public ones) and to flag or remind yourself about any, first you have to Sign In, or Log in to personalize this page.
Simmons students, faculty, and staff post announcements on MySimmons, such as invitations to join an organization, reminders about policies, and technology information. Events, on the other hand, are date dependent notices about lectures, Sharks games, workshops, and other Simmons happenings.
On the Dashboard Welcome page, you can toggle among Recent Announcements that are Simmons Alerts, New community notices, or that you have Flagged. Use the triangles to sort either by Announcement Title, or by Category. Click on a title to see more information about that announcement.
Alerts are notices that Simmons College believes are important and that you should attend to as soon as you can. Alerts also appear in your email inbox, directly from the sender.
You can remind yourself to re-read an announcement by flagging it. You can set or remove a Flag clicking these green plus and red minus Flag icons:

You can set a Flag almost anywhere you can see information about an announcement. Here is one way to flag an announcement:
Once you flag an event, that event no longer appears under New Announcements. When you flag an Alert, however, it remains on the Dashboard Welcome page under Alert. To see what you've flagged, switch to the Flagged view.
On Your Announcements page, you can toggle among your New Announcements Inbox, Flagged, Trash, and Archives.
There are several ways to get to Your Announcements. Here is one:
Within your New Announcements Inbox, Flagged, Trash, and Archives, you can toggle among title only, summary, details, and collapse.
and Trash
Simmons announcements are never actually deleted, they just get archived! Thirty days after an announcement has been made, the announcement moves from being "New" or "Flagged," to the Archived Announcements. You can always visit the archives. Here's one way how:
In the Archives, announcements you flagged are not distinguished from any other event. Even if you move an announcement to your Trash, it still appears in the Archives.
You can move announcements to your Trash to narrow down the list or calendar of events, using the Move to Trash icon, which is a red circle with a white minus sign.
Once you have moved an announcement to your Trash, a green check mark appears letting you know the announcement has been "moved to trash." What if you trashed an announcement by mistake? You can move it back to your inbox by visiting your Trash. Here's one way to navigate to your announcement Trash (which is separate from your events Trash) and put an announcement back in your New Announcements Inbox.
