Student Handbook: All-College Campus Services

Meal Plans

Resident Meal Plans
Resident students have a choice of two meal plans:

Beacon Hill Plan

  • 260 meals per semester
  • $50 in points

Boston Common Plan

  • 185 meals per semester
  • $140 in points

Both resident meal plans include five guest meals per semester so students may treat their friends and visitors to a meal in Bartol Hall. Meal points may be used in lieu of cash at the Quadside Café and Convenience Store, the Fens Café, Java City, and Meyers Cafe. Meal points may also be used in Bartol Hall to purchase additional meals and special items, such as a birthday cake for a roommate. Fenway Cash, Visa, and MasterCard are also accepted at Dining Services locations.

Meal Equivalency: A meal may be used for an equivalent amount of points at the Fens Café only. The amount allowed is between $4.20 and $6.00 during either the lunch or dinner meal period. Only one meal equivalency will be allowed during each meal period. Guest meals may not be used for equivalency.

Special points may be used for dining, bookstore purchases, laundry, vending, public copy machines and the on campus Copy Center. (See Campus Card).

When a student withdraws from campus housing, all meals, guest meals, meal plan points and special points expire as of the date of withdrawal with any resident meal plan.

All meals and guest meals expire at the end of each semester or date of withdrawal from housing.

Unused meal plan points from the fall semester will carry forward to the spring semester and then expire at the end of the academic year or date of withdrawal from housing.

Dining Services offers an opportunity for students to change their meal plan choice during a specified period, which will be posted in Bartol Hall, at the beginning of each semester. Meal plan changes may be made by completing a form (available at Bartol Hall or the Campus Card Office) during this period. Changes to meal plans will not be allowed after this period.

Commuter Meal Plans
Commuter students may purchase the following meal plan in the Campus Card Office:

30 meals and $50 in meal points

  • Cost of $190

Meal points may be used in lieu of cash at the Quadside Café and Convenience Store, the Fens Café, Java City and Meyers Cafe.

Meal Equivalency: A meal may be used for an equivalent amount of points at the Fens Café only. The amount allowed is between $4.20 and $6.00 during either the lunch or dinner meal period. Only one meal equivalency will be allowed during each meal period.

Meals and points do not expire, but they may not be refunded if unused.
