Career Counseling

Additionally, the center assists those who may need support during the career decision-making process. Three of the tools we use are:
Do What You Are
Do What You Are is a web-based assessment tool that provides valuable information about career development based on the proven science of Personality Type. This program provides with critical information needed in the career decision-making process. Once you have completed this assessment, a follow up appointment with a Simmons career coach is recommended.

Strong Interest Inventory
This tool helps you identify your predominant interests, which are useful in guiding you to specific occupations and fields for exploration. It can confirm your initial career direction.
Myers Briggs Type Indicator
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a self-assessment tool, which can help you focus your career exploration. The MBTI is primarily concerned with highlighting your particular personality traits and determining where you like to focus your attention, the way you take in and process information and the kind of lifestyle you prefer to lead. All of these play an integral part in your career decision making.
