Elise Tofias Phillips, MEd
Director of Health Education and Student Support

Elise Tofias Phillips, MEd, Director of Health Education and Student Support, has been at Simmons College since 2002. She sees students in the Health Center and in the office of the Dean for Student Life. Her expertise and passion are working with students on women's health issues and various studnet needs with a focus on lifestyle management, prevention, behavior change. She sees students individually to support their needs and will help them navigate through issues they are facing. She teaches, develops health curriculae, authors training manuals, directs a large peer education program. She offers individual educational lifestyle management counseling and wellness planning on time and stress management, nutrition, body imageexercise and fitness, sexuality, the prevention of relationship violence, sexual assault education, positive strategies for communication, smoking cessation, HIV/AIDS, and substance use and abuse. Elise coordinates the Sexual Assault Response Team SART@Simmons.edu.

The health education department offers college-wide health events, lectures, health campaigns, theme days, internships, service learning, and volunteer opportunities. The department collaborates with many areas throughout the College and is directly involved with student life, health and counseling centers, and residence life.

Angelina Moore, RD
Nutritionist

Angelina is a registered and licensed dietitian in the state of Massachusetts. As a behavioral nutritionist she works closely with health and counseling center staff. She has an expertise in helping clients find positive relationships with food and their bodies, and empowers clients for successful behavior change. She is experienced working with students that have weight management and eating challenges.

Angelina received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of New Hampshire and the University of Maine.




Annie Rothweiler
Public Health Intern and Office Administrator

Annie is a Society & Health major with minors in psychology and music. As an undergraduate Annie has been involved in the Betsy's Friends, Sex @ Simmons, and Drugs and Alcohol programs as well as the Clothesline Project as a peer educator and co-coordinator. She is the Lead Student Health Educator for the 2009-2010 academic year. In her free time, Annie enjoys playing the cello and exploring the outdoors.




Amanda Haller, '10
Co-coordinator for Eat @ Simmons and The Body Project

Amanda, '10, is the co-coordinator for Eat @ Simmons and The Body Project. She is a nutrition major with a public health minor. She hopes to work towards a Masters degree in public health. She is also involved in the Nutrition Liaison and works at Boston Sports Club. She loves being outside, cooking and traveling!




Heidi Morin, '10
Co-Coordinator for The Body Project

Heidi Morin '10 is a Student Health Educator for The Body Project, a body image campaign kicking off in the fall of 2009. She is a nutrition major and hopes to earn her Masters in nutrition and health promotion. She is also in her fourth year as a Peer Educator for the EAT @ Simmons program. Heidi is from Shapleigh, Maine and likes grocery shopping, eggplant parmesan, and going to the gym with her 81 year old grandmother.




Ally Pazar, '11
Co-coordinator of the Besty's Friends and Sexual Assault Program

Ally Pazar, '11 is the co-coordinator of the Besty's Friends and Sexual Assault Program. She is a psychology major in the five-year program for her master's degree in elementary education. She is also minoring in economics and a member of the honors program. Someday she hopes to become involved in educational policy. She is also an RA and enjoys doing yoga, drinking coffee, and cooking for everyone she loves.




Courtney Paull, '11
Co-coordinator for the Besty's Friends and Sexual Assualt program

Courtney, '11, is co-coordinator for the Besty's Friends and Sexual Assualt program. She is a Elementary Education and Math major. She is a lifeguard at the Simmons pool along with teaching swim lessons to younger children. She is also a part of the Simmons Dance Company and COF Performing Arts Dance. For the last 8 summers Courtney has attended Camp JORI sleepaway camp in Rhode Island.




Susannah Quinlan, '12
Coordinator for the Time and Stress Management Program

Suzie, '12 is a student health educator for the Time and Stress Management and a member of the Stress Busters program. She is majoring in Nursing with minors in Spanish and Biology and is very interested in public health and women's health.




Juliana Ross, '10
Co-Coordinator for the EAT@Simmons Program

Juliana Ross '10 is the Co-Coordinator for the EAT@Simmons peer education program. Juliana has been involved with EAT since Freshman year and is excited to bring her nutrition knowledge and leadership experience to the program. She is from Nashua, NH and is majoring in Nutrition with a minor in Spanish. Juliana is also involved with Simmons Hillel and in her free time, enjoys traveling and seeing Broadway shows (or at least singing Broadway tunes)!




Kylynn Grier, '11
Co-Coordinator of the SEX @ Simmons Program

Kylynn, '11 is the co-coordinator for the SEX@simmons program. She was part of a team who created the Hip-Hop 4 Healthy Sexuality Toolkit in 2005. This toolkit was taken and used to facilitate a workshop in Durban, South Africa. She was a Peer Educator for Planned Parenthood of the Mid-Hudson Valley's Teen F.I.R.E. (Free Information, Real Education) program. There she worked on creating/facilitating workshops surrounding comprehensive sex education and participated in street outreach. She is currently working with NOW (National Organization for Women), and is a Women & Gender Studies major.




Beatriz Datangel, '11
Coordinator for the HV/AIDS and the Smart Women Campaign

Beatriz, '11 is co-coordinator for the Smart Woman Campaign and HIV/AIDS programs. She is also a peer educator for Betsy's Friends and Drugs and Alcohol. She is majoring in Chemistry Management and minoring in Mathematics. She is originally from San Francisco. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and reading. She says, "stop me in the halls at any time to chat!"
