Commuter Housing

On-campus housing for undergraduate and graduate commuter students is available for students who wish to stay overnight for academic, social, or emergency purposes. A multiple occupancy commuter room is offered on a limited and space-available basis at a cost of $25 per night. The room is arranged to be able to house three to four students at a time, but male and female commuter students are never housed in the same room at the same time.  Students may take advantage of this space for no more than two consecutive nights and for no more than two nights per week. Exceptions may be made during exam periods or during special weekends. Room reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis and can be made through the Office of Residence Life via reslife@simmons.edu or 617-521-1096. Advanced reservations are recommended, but not mandatory.

How are is the commuter room furnished?
The North Hall commuter room is furnished with a bed for each student, two dressers, and two desks.  Students must provide their own bedding during their stay.  A bathroom, vending machines, and laundry facilities are available in the same residence hall in which the room is located for the convenience of the commuter students.

What should students bring?
Students should bring everything that they require for an overnight stay including alarm clocks, toothbrush/toothpaste, pillows, towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner, and sheets for a standard twin bed.

What if it is my first time staying in the commuter room?
You will need to fill out a commuter housing application.  By doing so, you agree to abide by all policies in the student handbook.   Download an application online and bring it in with you, or fill one out when you come in to reserve the room:
