Administrative Systems

Administrative Systems supports the institutional database needs and requirements for all administrative offices at Simmons College. The current system, Colleague, is an application from Datatel Inc., which is used for storage and reporting on institutional data.  In addition, some data can be accessed by students, facutly, and staff via AARC, a web-based interface to the Colleague system.

Elena Lander is the Director of Administrative Systems and oversees the department.

Colleague

The Colleague system is made up of several functional modules (Student, Enrollment Management, Human Resources, and Financials) which facilitate the processing of all administrative data for the College from prospect tracking through graduation, accounts receivable and payable, or facutly and staff employment data.

Simmons College began implementing Colleague in May 1986 and currently has around 300 users on campus.

Colleague is maintained and supported by the staff of the Administrative Systems Department of Technology. This group is responsible for protecting the stability and integrity of the system, installing new modules and enhancements as appropriate, and ensuring that Colleague is accessible to users when needed.
