If you'd like to have your country's flag represented at graduation please email Paula Bent at paula.bent@simmons.edu. Please note if you request a flag you will be asked to carry it at the ceremony. If you already indicated this on your data sheet there is no need to request again.

 

Invitations


Invitations for Graduation & Dean's Reception are ready for pick up in the MBA Office. Guests do not need the invitations to get into the graduation ceremony. If you wish to have more than 10, you can ask for them after all students receive theirs. Students will receive one Dean's Reception invitation each.

 

Voting


Ballots have been emailed out for voting for your class speakers, marshals, and the Pat Miller Awards. Please cast your vote by Monday, June 2nd. If the results are too close to call we will do another round.

CGO Seeks Upcoming Graduate Assistant For Upcoming School Year

The CGO office is looking for  a Graduate Assistant to assist with its
partnership with Madrinas, an organization of visionary Latina leaders. The
position requires approximately 5 hours per week. Responsibilities include:
maintaining the Madrinas membership list, forming monthly emails and

Newsletters to Madrinas members, assisting the CGO director with support of the partnership. 


Latina students encouraged to apply, and Spanish language strongly preferred.

While we are all more attuned to some of the more high profile culture clashes evident in the world today, your classmate Megha Bhutani had a first hand look at what happened when Honda's Japanese management team imposed their work style and ethics on the Indian work force at Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India Ltd. where she was in an Executive Training program. (SOMAA) 2008 Annual Meeting & Champagne Networking Reception

The School of Management Alumnae Association (SOMAA) will host the 2008 Annual Meeting & Champagne Networking Reception in June and would like to extend the invitation to all current SOM students.  The event will feature tours of the new SOM building and keynote speaker President Elect Helen Drinan'75LS,'78SM.  The discussion will focus on the evolution and future of the SOMAA.

The 2008 National Black MBA Association Case Competition

 

The event will be held at the 30th Annual Convention and Exposition, September 17-20, in Washington, DC. To facilitate that process, all case participants must register via the conference registration document which can be located at www.nbmbaa.org. As has been the procedure in the past, case teams must register for the conference (at the student rate - $295.00), indicating case participation on the registration document. That registration document then should be forwarded to the NBMBAA. Each individual member of the case team must register. To indicate case team participation, look under the Registration Options heading. We urge all case teams to register before August 15, 2008. The tentative schedule at the conference is as follows:

Library Hours

This Saturday, the library will be staffed from 12pm – 4pm.

From Friday, May 23 until Friday, August 29, the SOM Library will be closing early on Fridays at 2pm, due to the college instituting summer hours.
